The Hydra® 15 (Hydra) is the modular foundation of the Hydra® Weapon System — a highly versatile, user-friendly AR-style platform built around quick caliber and component changes. This configuration ships in 5.56×45 NATO and pairs the Hydra® Modular Lower Receiver (AR magazine well) and AR magazine with the Hydra® Quick-Change Barrel Upper Receiver (QCB-D). It includes a 16″ 5.56 barrel fitted with a low-profile gas block under an 11.5″ transformable handguard, plus a Hydra® modified bolt carrier group (5.56 bolt & firing pin), the Hydra® D-Fender D-Ring for enhanced reliability, and B5 Systems stock and pistol grip.
Designed to grow with you, the Hydra® 15 accepts optional magazine wells and caliber conversion kits — in many cases you only need to swap barrel, bolt, and magazine well to convert to other supported calibers (examples: .350 Legend, .300 Blackout, .450 Bushmaster). Rugged, adaptable, and built for fast swapping, the Hydra® 15 is engineered to be the most versatile “Black Rifle” platform on the market.
Typical parts to change barrel, bolt, magazine well (and sometimes magazine)
Some combinations only require barrel + bolt (e.g., 5.56 ↔ 300 Blackout in suppressed/unsuppressed configurations where magazine compatibility exists)
For large-format calibers (e.g., .450 Bushmaster), change to appropriate magazine well and confirm bolt face/sizing and headspace with the conversion kit
Notes: Always use factory conversion kits or verified parts and have caliber conversions and headspace checked by a qualified armorer.
